Stop Press - 2 May 2020

COVID-19

We very much regret that we have had to accept that Immersion France courses will not be possible this July. We have not yet ruled out courses in August but clearly we have to follow the guidelines issued by the French and British governments.

As you can imagine we are very disappointed but let's keep in touch, and we hope to see you again, if not this year then in 2021.

We will keep you informed about future dates via email and our website - I think we all need something to look forward to at the moment.

In the event that the UK leaves the EU please ensure that your passport complies with the regulations and that your holiday insurance will cover you for medical care, should you need it, as you may not be covered under your EHIC.

Our 26th year!

We once again enjoyed the spacious classrooms with which the village provides us, in the heart of the village. We had glorious sunshine and much conviviality with our friends and neighbours in Suèvres.

As always, the festivities of the fête nationale were an opportunity to participate fully in village life, while a soirée apéro-jazz in the last week brought all our host families and students together for an evening of food, wine, music and conversation.

We four teachers, Michel, Monique, Penny and Jane agreed that 2019 was a really successful year, bringing together old and new students all with a real commitment and enthusiasm for learning French.

We look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones in 2020.

With best wishes

Our Immersion France 6-day residential courses, commencing on Saturdays (see "Dates and Prices" for exceptions), offer intensive immersion in the French language, with an emphasis on spoken French, understanding and pronunciation.

Students are accommodated in the village with families well known to us. Evenings around the dinner table, with good food and wine, offer a relaxed atmosphere in which to practice the language and discuss French life and culture

We usually have around 12 students each week, split into two groups according to ability for most of the teaching.

Our tutors come from the Open University, London University or are local French teachers.

We can offer exam preparation with particular help for students facing oral exams.

Specialist group weeks can be arranged.

The price includes all accommodation, meals, teaching, materials, and visits, but not travel to and back from Suèvres.
