IMMERSION FRANCE

Intensive French study courses

Generally speaking

Immersion France's exciting program of French courses have been designed and tailor-made by experienced University lecturers in French in order enable adult students with an established or developing interest in French language to practice and improve their spoken and written French at the appropriate linguistic level (post-O level/GCSE to degree level) in a totally French environment.

The teachers and the teaching

Our teachers are all very experienced university lecturers in French and in addition we have a local French teacher. There are never normally more than six to a class. Although classes may vary in detail according to individual wishes, they will include pronunciation, listening exercises, grammar, spoken and written expression, topical discussion and presentation of themes relating to French life, society, literature and history.

We have ample material on tape which we can lend you to help improve your weak spots. We also have Language Trainers (4-track tape recorders that work like miniature language laboratories). These offer an ideal way of working in private and correcting yourself.

At the start of the course, we ask you to identify what exactly you want to gain from the week's work and where you most need help from us. We monitor your progress closely to ensure that you receive the individual attention that is the hallmark of our courses. The families with whom you will be staying will provide ample opportunities for extended conversation.

The first day

Courses begin with your arrival in the village of Suèvres on Saturday afternoon.

A typical timetable

What does a typical week's timetable look like? Obviously, it may vary according to individuals' wishes, and there is always time for relaxation. Your week could look like the sample given below.
