Course dates

We look forward to welcoming you to Suèvres. Here are the dates for the 2020 season.

We very much regret that we have had to cancel Weeks 1 and 2, due to Covid-19 under governmental advice. If you can't come this year, please do come in 2021. Check back early next year for those dates.

Week 1: Sat 11 July to Fri 17 July 2020
Week 2: Sat 18 July to Fri 24 July 2020
Week 3: Sat 15 Aug to Fri 21 Aug 2020
Week 4: Sat 22 Aug to Fri 28 Aug 2020

* Week 1 covers the traditional 14 juillet activities.  As well as the usual classes, it includes a street party on Monday 13th, accompanied by piano accordion and on Tuesday 14th we celebrate the fête nationale,  entering into the heart of village life, with a vin d’honneur offered by the mayor, a repas communal  on the village green, torchlight procession around the village, fireworks and, if you have any energy left, dancing till the early hours at the bal populaire.

Course price

Despite the post-Brexit fall in the value of sterling, we are keeping the cost of a week’s course the same as the previous two years, £840. Please note that this price includes all food and drink, accommodation and excursions. You will not have to pay for anything beyond your travel to and from Suèvres and coffees and drinks in the local bar.

Included in the price:

   •    Accommodation - 6 Nights with your host family.

   •    All your meals, including: daily breakfast and dinner with your hosts (except on the first night when you will have dinner with us in the garden of 10, rue St Martin, and the last night when we eat out in a local restaurant) as well as working lunches which are usually in the garden of our house in rue St Martin.

   •    Tutoring - 6 days intensive tutoring + course materials (loose-leaf ring-binder, teaching handouts and notes, all stationery).

   •    Two excursions - trips to nearby places of interest such as the Château de Chambord or the Château de Blois and the town of Blois itself (see the link on the left for more information).

   •    Collection by car, from and to Mer railway station.

If you wish to do the optional French Cookery course there will be an additional fee of 40 euros.
