Options

Getting to Suèvres could not be easier. We can give you all the advice you need, once you have selected your means of travel.

Train:

The easiest way is to travel to Paris is by Eurostar or plane to Charles de Gaulle Airport. Cross Paris by metro and take the train from the Gare d'Austerlitz to Mer which is the nearest town to Sučvres. We will send you a metro ticket and provide full details of how to cross Paris by tube, plus times of trains and we will meet you by car at Mer station, a ten minute drive from Suèvres.

The cheapest fares (know as 'Apex') need to be booked well in advance. Over 60s and under 26s have generous reductions on French Rail (though not on Eurostar) and you can book your through journey through European Rail Travel Ltd, 0207 387 0444 or Rail Europe Travel Centre, 08705 848 848.

Fly:

The most economical flights are by Ryanair from Stansted to Paris, and even better, from Stansted to Tours, an easy journey avoiding Paris. It is a short train ride from Tours to Mer. Bargains may also sometimes be found by booking early.
